Job Duties::

  • Independent research and active participation in cooperative research projects of the institute, in particular, in the development, evaluation, and practical application of machine learning methods (especially deep learning) with applications in computer vision, natural language processing or autonomous driving
  • Publication of scientific results in renowned international journals and conferences
  • Teaching of courses as well as planning and supervising of exams (especially in labs and practicals) in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science both at Bachelor and Master level to the extent of 8 hours per week per semester
  • Preparation and updating of teaching materials and examination documents
  • Support in the supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
  • Support with administrative tasks in the field of teaching

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate/PhD degree or equivalent in machine learning or closely related field, such as Computer Science with strong focus on machine learning
  • Experience with teaching on university level
  • Publications and track record in the area of machine learning, deep learning, mathematics, signal processing, computer vision, speech processing, or natural language processing
  • Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical inference
  • Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or Keras
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python
  • Full command of German and English (German level C1, English level B2)
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team and to support students and young colleagues
