Job Duties::

  • Conduct scientific research in the field of visual data science (visualization, visual analytics, explainable AI)
  • Contribute to collaborative research projects
  • Work towards obtaining a PhD
  • Publish scientific findings in renowned international journals and at conferences
  • Short-term research stays at international collaboration partners (Harvard University, ETH Zürich, University of Utah, etc.)
  • Provide support to manage the institute’s general administration activities

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, statistics, or similar) or has equivalent qualifications
  • Expertise in one or more of the following fields: data visualization, visual analytics, explainable AI, data mining, statistics, machine learning, and human-computer interaction
  • Strong programming skills in web technologies (e.g., HTML5, D3.js, Java Script) and scripting languages (Python and R) are of advantage
  • Strong motivation and commitment to research
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team
  • Strong command of English (level C1), good German skills (level B1), but not mandatory
