The House of Research and Innovation provides a space where ideas and research can flourish sustainably—within an ecosystem that fosters curious, playful, and bold exploration of new solutions. With this in mind, the Prototyping Department aims to support the development and testing of new, innovative technologies and products. We develop, build, and test new concepts—from tools and fixtures to systems and products—for research and beyond. To expand our team, we are looking for new members:

Job Duties::

  • Development and optimization of mechatronic systems and automation equipment
  • Creation of user interfaces (C, C++, Python, PLC, etc.)
  • Integration of sensors (e.g., position, force, touch, etc.) and actuators (e.g., servo motors, stepper motors, frequency converters, etc.)
  • Programming, simulation and debugging of automation and control loops (MCU/microcontrollers, embedded systems)
  • Documentation of circuit diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams (E-CAD)

Your Qualifications::

  • Completed vocational training (apprenticeship, HTL, or equivalent qualification) in mechatronics and/or computer science and/or digital systems engineering or a related field.
  • Experience (preferably in development) is a plus
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, microcontrollers and IT systems
  • Familiarity with circuit diagram documentation and relevant standards
  • Excellent German skills and good English skills (German level C1, English level B1)
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative & approach tasks with precision, structure, and a focus on goals and solutions
  • Open, friendly demeanor and good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team, interdisciplinary thinking, curiosity, and flexibility
  • Enjoyment of tinkering and solving technical problems
  • Strong commitment and excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize

What We Offer::

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,131.30 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: IIIb)
