In recent years, the School of Medicine at Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) has successfully established itself as an innovative hub for medical education and research. The Clinical Research Institute for Medical AI is seeking to fill a position as Technical Administrator for the management of the HPC infrastructure, with a workweek of 40 hours:

Job Duties::

  • Administration of the server/HPC infrastructure in accordance with the guidelines of the working group leaders and the KFI MAI Executive Board, including, among other things:
  • Troubleshooting and user support during ongoing operations
  • Planning of hardware and software purchases, storage, and backups
  • Training and guidance for non-technical staff
  • Networking of existing server/HPC infrastructure and creation of interfaces

Your Qualifications::

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT (computer science, business informatics, or similar) or equivalent education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with server hardware and software, including Linux, networks, and hardened systems; experience in administering server/HPC infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of modern software engineering principles
  • Experience training users in the use of server/HPC infrastructure
  • Experience in creating systematic, self-contained, and clear documentation
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary, asynchronous teams
  • An understanding of the need to handle sensitive data responsibly and in compliance with existing standards, guidelines, and recommendations
  • A structured, meticulous, and team-oriented approach to work
  • Ongoing professional development and training in the context of the position
  • Excellent German and English language skills (C1 level)
