The Robopsychology Lab at the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) focuses on understanding key psychological processes involved in human interactions with AI systems and robots. Our mission is to contribute to a scientifically grounded basis for designing human-centered technologies. If you are interested in how AI and robots influence human thinking and behavior, and if you have a passion for empirical research, then become part of our team and take the opportunity to pursue a cumulative PhD in the field of Robopsychology.

Job Duties::

  • Dedicated empirical research, particularly on psychological aspects of interaction with and perception of AI systems, as well as on the promotion of AI literacy
  • Passionate involvement in research projects at the Robopsychology Lab
  • Scientific publishing and participation in academic conferences and events
  • Involvement in teaching and independent delivery of courses in German and English
  • (Co-)supervising and mentoring students during seminar papers and final theses
  • Assistance with organizational and administrative tasks as well as with science communication activities of the Robopsychology Lab

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a completed diploma or master's degree in Psychology
  • Interest in the research topics of the Robopsychology Lab, ideally prior experience in research on human-machine interaction or AI literacy
  • Excellent knowledge of psychological research methods and data analysis techniques
  • Clear and precise writing skills, particularly in the preparation of scientific manuscripts
  • Very good command of English (C1) and German (C1)
  • Strong analytical thinking, accuracy, and reliability
  • Willingness to work in inter- and transdisciplinary teams, strong social skills
  • Commitment to Open Science (e.g., study preregistration) and Open Innovation in Science (e.g., Citizen Science, Art & Science)
  • High motivation to pursue a dissertation (cumulative, based on multiple journal and conference contributions)
