Job Duties::

  • Collaboration on research at the Department of Sociology with a focus on Innovation and Digitalization (SID)
  • Actively take part in research, as well as conceptualize and complete research projects
  • Conducting independent research in the department's area of focus
  • Prepare and supervise university-level courses in German and English
  • Co-supervise Bachelor’s/Master’s theses
  • Participation in the department’s general administration activities

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in Sociology or a corresponding discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of sociological theories and methods (demonstrated through publications)
  • Expertise in one or more of the following sociological fields: sociology of digitalisation, technology, labour, and/or organisation
  • Excellent German and good English skills (German level C1, English level B2)
  • Demonstrable willingness to engage in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration with technical sciences, artistic design, and/or organizations from various societal sectors (e.g., business, public administration, etc.)
  • Experience in teaching high-quality university-level courses
  • Research experience (documented by existing publications)
  • Communication and organisational skills and a willingness to be part of a team
