As successful applicant for this position, you will be part of a research project related to "Ludic Data Visualization". The project sits at the intersection of information visualization and video game design, investigating diegetic data representations within video games, what we can learn from it for visualization design in general, and how they can give rise to novel game experiences.

Job Duties::

  • Collaboration in an exciting basic research project, funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF) on the topic of ludic data visualization, which sits at the intersection of data visualization and video game design
  • Research, development, and studies within the fields of games user research, games analytics and information visualization
  • Publishing scientific articles in renowned international conferences and journals
  • Public dissemination and presentations at national and international conferences
  • Possibility for obtaining a PhD

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Excellent academic skills with a clear interest in games user research and information visualization
  • Expertise in one or multiple of the following areas: Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design, Games User Research, Information Visualization
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Game Engines
  • Interest in user studies
  • Highly motivated and interest in working interdisciplinary
  • Be able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Strong proficiency in English, both spoken and written (level C1). Good knowledge of German is an advantage (level B1) but not mandatory
