A successful applicant for this position will be part of a doctoral training and research network combining the multidisciplinary expertise of 15 research laboratories at renowned EU and UK scientific institutions. This network aims to better understand the complex and multilayered process of tissue regeneration, particularly the regulatory mechanisms of heart, brain, and eye regeneration in the unique and highly tractable zebrafish model system. To this end, the network applies a variety of techniques, from computational and developmental biology, including experimental work, bioinformatics, genomics, and visualization.
The Visual Data Science Lab, as one of the network’s computational nodes, will contribute to the network through novel dimension reduction and visualization techniques, with a focus on single-cell and gene regulation data.
