Shape Your Future at the Institute of Pervasive Computing (IPC)

The IPC is seeking a talented and motivated junior researcher to join our team. Our institute’s work spans exciting topics in the area of pervasive computing, including:
- Streaming AI: Embedded, federated, and incremental learning approaches.
- Attention and Cognition: Attention theories, perception, predictive analytics, intelligent systems.
- Context and Awareness: Situation recognition, activity tracking, identity management and authentication.
- Natural Interfaces: Gaze based interaction, haptics, gestures, multimodal interaction.
- Applications: Ranging from exoskeletons to the identification of textiles.

At IPC, you have opportunities to collaborate with universities and industry partners and engage with students during teaching and thesis supervision. It is expected that you will write a PhD dissertation over the course of four years.

Job Duties::

  • Active research in the institute's core research directions
  • Contributing to current and future project proposals
  • Representing the research group at conferences and participating in various committees
  • Publication activity and participation in scientific events
  • Conducting selected lectures in German and English
  • Supervision/Guidance of students in seminar and project work as well as Bachelor's and Master's theses
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks, as well as teaching activities at the institute

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master's degree in Computer Science or a corresponding discipline
  • Verified interest in the institute’s research topics
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide student and classroom support
  • Be strongly motivated to write a PhD Thesis
  • Good command of German and English both written and spoken (level C1)
