The research of the Robopsychology Lab at the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) aims to better understand psychological processes in our increasing interactions with AI systems and robots and to contribute to empirically grounded foundations for a human-centered future of technology. If you are interested in how Artificial Intelligence and robotics impact how we think, feel and act, and have a passion for empirical research, then join our team and take the opportunity to pursue a cumulative PhD in Robopsychology.

Job Duties::

  • Dedicated empirical research, particularly on psychological aspects of interaction with and perception of AI systems
  • Committed participation in research projects of the Robopsychology Lab
  • Academic publishing and participation in scientific events
  • Contribution to teaching and conducting courses in English or German
  • (Co-)supervision and guidance of students in seminar and thesis work
  • Contribution to organizational and administrative tasks as well as science communication at the Robopsychology Lab

Your Qualifications::

  • Diploma or master's degree in psychology or a related field (e.g. communication science, human-computer interaction)
  • Demonstrable interest in the research areas of the Robopsychology Lab
  • Very good knowledge of psychological research and data analysis methods
  • Clear and precise writing skills, particularly in the drafting of scientific manuscripts
  • Very good English proficiency (C1); German skills are an advantage
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and reliability
  • Willingness to work in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams, strong social skills
  • Strong motivation to pursue a dissertation (cumulative, based on several journal and conference papers)
