We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary research project “Climate Policy Attitudes and Pro-Environmental Behaviour: The Role of Intergenerational Relationships” (CLINT), which explores how intergenerational relationships shape attitudes towards climate policy and pro-environmental behaviour in Austria, Italy, and Sweden. The project combines insights from political science, social demography, and gerontology, using original survey data and existing longitudinal data (SHARE and SOEP) to investigate the role of family ties and generational dynamics in climate action. The project is funded under the JKU LIFT_C programme.

Job Duties::

  • Conduct high-quality research
  • Analyse longitudinal data such as SHARE and SOEP
  • Design and implement a cross-national original online survey
  • Collaborate with the project partner Prof. Dr. Valeria Bordone at the University of Vienna
  • Publish project results in international peer-reviewed journals
  • Contribute to the dissemination of research findings

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold a completed PhD in political science, sociology, demography, social statistics or a related field
  • Excellent skills in quantitative methods
  • Experience in working with microdata (with SHARE or SOEP is an advantage)
  • Interest in one or more of the following topics: attitudes, intergenerational relationships, climate policy, survey design
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong command of English (level C1)
  • Language skills in German are not required
