Job Duties::

  • Active participation at the Center for Higher Education and AI Competent University Teaching
  • Research and evaluation of teaching at the JKU in close cooperation with the respective departments
  • Development and implementation of innovative research projects in the field of higher education
  • Exploration and utilization of the potential of Artificial Intelligence for university teaching
  • Active support in the conceptual further development of the media education continuing education program at the JKU
  • Building a comprehensive collection of materials as well as preparing best practices for the use of modern and digital learning environments (for example Flipped Classroom, Peer Instruction)
  • Writing scientific publications for international journals and conference proceedings
  • Successful acquisition and independent execution of third party funded projects
  • Transfer of scientific findings into practical university teaching and development of evidence based recommendations for educators
  • Targeted establishment and sustainable maintenance of national and international research collaborations in the fields of higher education and Artificial Intelligence

Your Qualifications::

  • The successful candidate must hold successfully completed doctoral studies (ideally in Higher Education, Educational Sciences, STEM Education, Psychology, Educational Psychology or Sociology)
  • Profound research experience and verifiable publications in the field of higher education or similar fields
  • Proficient use of qualitative and / or quantitative research methods
  • Practical experience in applying modern learning environments in one's own university teaching (for example Flipped Classroom, Peer Instruction, SCALE UP Classroom)
  • Routine use of digital media as well as Artificial Intelligence in one's own teaching
  • Practical experience in developing viable concepts for the higher education sector
  • Profound knowledge in the development and evaluation of AI supported teaching formats, learning formats and examination formats
  • Verifiable experience in the conception and implementation of continuing education programs for educators
  • Experience with scientific publications in international, peer reviewed journals
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills (at least level B2+)
