Job Duties::

  • Independent research and active collaboration on cooperative research projects at the institute, primarily in development, evaluation, and application within the field of number theory with the expectation of incorporating symbolic computation in the future
  • Publication of scientific results in recognized international journals and at conferences
  • Conducting courses and examinations (primarily exercise classes/problem sessions) in service teaching
  • Supporting students within the newly established RISC European College
  • Supporting/supervising Master's theses in the Computational Mathematics degree program
  • Assistance with administrative tasks in the area of teaching

Your Qualifications::

  • The candidate must have a completed PhD/doctoral degree in mathematics or a related field; a habilitation in mathematics is desirable
  • Experience in conducting courses in the field of Technical Mathematics/Computational Mathematics
  • Experience in supervising/advising students
  • Strong skills in research-led teaching and in collaborating on research tasks; involvement in developing research projects is desirable
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to motivate students
  • Willingness to engage in continuing education/professional development
  • Strong english skills (Level C1), german skills are an advantage
