The Institute for Transformative Change (LIFT_C) at Johannes Kepler University Linz is seeking to appoint a University Assistant with a Diploma/Master’s degree. By promoting inter- and transdisciplinary approaches in research, teaching and engagement, LIFT_C is committed to developing forward-looking solutions. The position offers motivated graduates the opportunity to work in an innovative and interdisciplinary research environment and to gain valuable experience in both research and teaching.
You will work in the team of Professor Dr Katharina Lugani, Professor of Excellence in Ethics, Medicine, Law, and Governance in Health Policy, addressing current issues at the intersection of medicine, law, ethics and governance. Your work will focus particularly on the legal and ethical challenges posed by new medical technologies and transformations in health policy.

Job Duties::
- Contributing to academic research in the field of Ethics, Medicine, Law, and Governance in Health Policy
- Independent contribution to academic publications, research projects and conference presentations
- Independent teaching of university courses
- Assisting with the implementation of academic research projects
- Assisting with the preparation, delivery and coordination of university courses
- Assisting with the planning, organisation and coordination of academic events and conferences
- Providing academic support and supervision to students, including in connection with examinations, seminar papers and tutorials
- Contributing to administrative and organisational tasks within the institute
- Opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications (particularly through the completion of a doctoral dissertation)
Your Qualifications::
- The successful candidate must hold a completed diploma or master’s degree in law
- A strong interest in academic research in the fields of civil procedure, medical law and family law
- Enthusiasm for teaching and working with students
- Ability to present complex matters clearly and precisely
- High level of self-motivation, strong teamwork skills and a structured, independent approach to work
- Very good German skills (C1 level) and good English skills (B2 level), both written and spoken.
- Willingness to pursue further academic qualifications

- On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,776.10 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
