In recent years, the School of Medicine at Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) has successfully established itself as an innovative hub for medical education and research. At the University Clinic for Internal Medicine 4 – Pulmonology and Infectious Diseases of the Faculty of Medicine at JKU Linz, a newly established clinical tenure-track position in “Obstructive Airway Diseases” (K-TT Position – Obstructive Airway Diseases; Head: Dr. Andreas Horner, PhD) is available.

The K-TT Center’s young interdisciplinary research group—Obstructive Airway Diseases—is seeking a motivated and dedicated study coordinator for the following highly varied and exciting role.

Job Duties::

  • Coordination and management of clinical trials at the University Hospital
  • Independent and autonomous conduct of scientific work within the framework of clinical trials
  • Data analysis
  • Organizational and administrative support for investigators engaged in clinical and scientific work in the conduct and documentation of clinical trials
  • Patient management (e.g., coordination, preparing for rounds / organizing documents, documentation (entering patient data), logistics, data management, monitoring, providing information over the phone, etc.)
  • Clinical research activities directly with study patients in accordance with your training (e.g., conducting clinical rounds/study visits, administering questionnaires, etc.)
  • Providing care for study participants in accordance with one’s training (e.g., drawing blood, measuring blood pressure, collecting clinical data, administering questionnaires, organizing follow-up visits, etc.)
  • Organizing and coordinating diagnostics, laboratory work, specimen shipping, and, if applicable, investigational medication
  • Assisting with the submission of applications to ethics committees
  • Collaboration with the Coordination Center for Clinical Trials (KKS Linz) at the JKU School of Medicine and the Service Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) at Kepler University Hospital
  • Communication with sponsors, trial sites, principal investigators, regulatory authorities, etc.
  • Preparation for and support during monitor visits, audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Maintenance of a research database, project overview, publication tracking, and research documentation
  • Project Cost Estimation

Your Qualifications::

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in medicine, biology, natural sciences, or related fields
  • Basic knowledge of relevant regulations (ICH, AMG) and training in “Good Clinical Practice” (GCP)
  • Experience in clinical trials and scientific work as a study nurse or study coordinator is a plus
  • Very good German and good English skills (German level C1, English level B2)
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and in a structured manner, as well as a high degree of reliability
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,450.30 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: IVa)
