Das Institut für Soziologie wird um eine neue Abteilung erweitert, die sich auf die Themen der Umwelt- und Transformationssoziologie fokussiert.

Job Duties::

  • General secretarial duties at a university institute (co-ordinating appointments, handling correspondence in German and English, and Spanish where necessary, travel planning and expense claims, etc.)
  • Organisation of Course and Examination Procedures
  • Point of contact for students, staff and visitors
  • Drafting or revising written documents or presentations
  • Support with the administration of research projects, as well as the preparation and processing of project accounts
  • Management of the institute’s budget, budget monitoring and control using SAP
  • Support for academic staff in research and teaching administration
  • Updating the institute’s website
  • Assisting with the planning, preparation and running of events

Your Qualifications::

  • A school-leaving certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent knowledge of standard PC software and word processing programmes (particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and the internet), as well as familiarity with the platforms commonly used at JKU
  • Very good written and spoken German and English (German: C1 level, English: B2 level); knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of office organisation, ideally with experience of planning and administrative processes at JKU
  • The ability to work independently and in a problem-solving manner, flexibility, a sense of personal responsibility and organisational skills
  • Enjoys working with people, a team player, a friendly manner
  • An interest in topics relating to environmental and transformation sociology, as well as experience of living abroad, would be an advantage

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 2,759.20 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: IIIa)
