Job Duties::

  • Conduct independent research in the field of computer algebra
  • Contribute to research projects and actively participate in the acquisition of third-party funded research projects
  • Contribute to teaching by independently organizing and co-teaching lectures, exercise classes, seminars, practical courses, and supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses on research-related topics

Your Qualifications::

  • Completed doctoral degree (PhD) in Mathematics
  • Enthusiasm for research and teaching
  • Knowledge of and research experience in computer algebra
  • Experience with algorithmic methods for polyhedra, linear inequalities, and oriented matroids
  • Experience in the development of mathematical software for computer algebra systems, in particular SageMat
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and experience with Git
  • Teaching experience in mathematics and computer science
  • International experience
  • Excellent command of German and English (German: CEFR level C1; English: CEFR level B2)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
