Job Duties::

  • Performance of chemical syntheses in the area of inorganic and organometallic chemistry and catalysis
  • Design of novel hydrogenation reactions
  • Maintenance of lab and measurement devices
  • Introduction of chemicals data base
  • Ordering and purchase of chemicals and lab utilities
  • Maintenance and improvement of laboratory equipment
  • Support of scientific work for bachelor, master and doctoral students
  • Supervision of the lecture hall laboratory (HS10)/Supervision of (high school) students/apprentices and groups
  • Safeguarding the compliance with rules for safe working in a laboratory
  • Support and practical organization of the inorganic synthetic laboratory course

Your Qualifications::

  • Completed training as laboratory technician or graduate of HTL
  • Enthusiasm and interest in the synthesis of organometallic and inorganic compounds as well as ligand systems for catalytic purposes
  • high degree of self-initiative and innovative capacities
  • Readiness and motivation to learn preparative skills, especially for working under inert conditions
  • experience in the operation of autoclaves for conducting hydrogenation reactions
  • didactic skills in practical chemistry
  • Solid knowledge in NMR spectroscopy and GC-MS
  • Advanced application knowledge in IT
  • Excellent German and English skills (German C1, English B2)

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 2,759.20 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: IIIa)
