University Assistant with a doctorate/Ph.D., working 20 hours per week (fixed-term contract for 6 years)
A bank has agreed to offer an additional position at 25% for five months and at 50% until the end of the contract term.

Job Duties::

  • Independent and collaborative research in the Institute’s key research areas
  • Teaching at the bachelor’s and master’s levels
  • Supervising (or co-supervising) bachelor’s and master’s theses
  • Developing research projects (including application-oriented ones) and securing external funding
  • Contributing to the positioning of the Research Institute for Banking
  • Communicating scientific findings and establishing regular forums for exchange between research and practice
  • Willingness to participate in executive education programs

Your Qualifications::

  • A completed doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in business administration from an internationally recognized research-oriented university
  • Excellent written and spoken proficiency in German (C1) and English (C1)
  • Proven teaching experience at universities and experience supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of corporate finance and banking, as well as practical experience in the banking sector
  • Knowledge of current issues related to sustainability, transformation, and digital innovation
  • Experience in the academic publication process—from developing the research question through study design, data collection, and data analysis to successful publication
  • Proven experience in developing, applying for, and successfully securing external funding
  • Participation in an international research collaboration
  • Experience in the field of executive education, academic continuing education, or knowledge transfer
  • Academic visibility, for example through academic awards, invited presentations, or comparable forms of external recognition of academic achievements
