We are seeking a highly motivated Biomedical Laboratory Scientist / Research Technician to support the establishment and long-term development of a new translational gynecologic oncology research laboratory.

The position will be based in the research group of PD Dr. Damian Ralser, Tenure-Track Professor of Gynecologic Oncology, and offers the opportunity to actively contribute to building a new laboratory from its inception and to assume a central, long-term role within the research team.

Job Duties::

  • Supporting the establishment, organization and day-to-day operation of the new research laboratory
  • Establishing, performing and optimizing experimental laboratory procedures
  • Culture and characterization of tumor cells and preclinical tumor models
  • Performance of drug-testing experiments and functional assays
  • Performance of molecular and cellular biology experiments
  • Processing, documentation and storage of biological samples
  • Support of biomarker analyses and translational research projects
  • Documentation, quality assurance and standardization of laboratory procedures
  • Management of laboratory consumables, reagents and equipment
  • Technical support and training of postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and other research staff
  • Close collaboration with clinical and scientific partners

Your Qualifications::

  • You have completed professional training or a degree as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Research Technician or hold an equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in a molecular biology, cell biology or cancer research laboratory is highly desirable
  • Experience with cell culture, molecular biology techniques, immunoassays, microscopy and/or preclinical drug-testing approaches would be advantageous
  • We are looking for a reliable, highly organized and independent team member with a strong interest in experimental and translational cancer research. A willingness to establish new laboratory methods and take responsibility for laboratory organization and workflows is particularly important
  • Englischkenntnisse Niveau B2 (gute, flüssige Kommunikation im beruflichen Kontext). Deutschkenntnisse von Vorteil
