The Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU Linz) and the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) are joining forces to establish a Doctoral College for Computational Sustainability, combining the strengths and competences of complementary disciplines at both universities, and aiming to create and approve transdisciplinary knowledge in key research areas of computational sustainability. The aspirational vision of the Doctoral College is a world in which computational sciences significantly contribute, support, drive and foster global, regional and national efforts towards sustainable development.
For this joint Doctoral College, we invite applications from outstanding candidates eager to contribute to cutting-edge research in computational sustainability.
The successful candidate will pursue a PhD project with the following working title: Flattening the Curve: Computational Approaches for Load Forecasting and Policy Impact Assessment toward Cost-Effective and Sustainable Power Grids
A summary of the planned project is available at https://computational-sustainability.at/flattening-the-curve-2/
The dissertation will be co-supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Johannes Reichl (JKU Linz) and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Filzmoser (TU Wien), and carried out at the LIT Future Energy Lab at JKU.
